The bands with lasting success are those who are not afraid to put in the legwork at the beginning; flash in the pan acts tend to disappear as quickly as they arrived. A Stranger In Moscow are not a here-today-gone-tomorrow prospect. Rather, the band have been playing everywhere and anywhere, whenever they possible can, for the past couple of years.

Fresh-faced young men, ASIM fuse post-hardcore guitars and progressive arrangements with electronica samples, killer choruses and the catchiest hooks you are likely to hear. This is music to get your teeth into, time and time again.

ASIM’s hard work is beginning to pay off; the band are currently finalising a publishing deal with Reverb/XL, and will be releasing their debut single (which, incidentally, has already received airtime from the likes of Alex Zane) on Airbag Recordings on 13th October. The first album will follow early next year. Keep your eyes peeled for A Stranger In Moscow; 2009 belongs to them.
